We enjoyed this book as it covered some unusual animals as well. The text is not aimed at small children, it is Wikipedia level text so the content is suited to the kids with comprehension level at Wiki text level. The book contains photos (from public domain) of an endangered animals and a couple of paragraphs about each animal. It covers 33 different animals.

This book about dangerous animals is similar to "amazing facts" series written by different authors that follow the same formula: stock photos and description from Wikipedia about the given topic. This book has longer descriptions compared to the other "amazing facts" books. The style of the book is not original, but information is interesting. I liked the larger amount of text as it was more educational.

I thoroughly enjoyed "33 Dangerous Animals of the World," by P.K. Miller. He does a wonderful job of giving basic information on each of the animals. I know enough about animals that I was looking for specific details, ie. that hyenas are more closely related to cats than to dogs. That and all other such details that I specifically looked for were there. In addition, it was fun to read and the accompanying pictures were great.

All 33 animals listed include a picture, information and 'What is the Danger'. There are some common ones in this list like the African Honey Bee, Black Mamba, King Cobra, Wolverine etc. Then there are some surprises like the Cape Buffalo which is considered one of the top five most dangerous animals in Africa. Other surprises to you may be the African Elephant, Baboon, Silver Back Gorilla and the Walrus. At the end of each one there is a google link to pictures.

Have to admit I was a little disappointed with this book. The info is very basic with not a lot of detail. For example, when discussing animals with a toxic bite, the author doesn't include what kind of toxin. If you are wary about letting your child troll the internet you will probably want to guide what pictures he/she looks at.

My husband and brother were in the front seat listening in on our conversations. They kept interrupting to ask questions about the animals and guessing which animals might be included. We all thoroughly enjoyed the book! I highly recommend it.
