Excellent story of Cass Rockwell assuming the identity of her nemesis, Celeste Carver, at a masked costume party, intending to exact her revenge and ruin her reputation. But then she meets the perfect man in Calder Blake (loved this guy)...who has a strong attraction for Cass, but who genuinely believes her to be Celeste.The beginning of this story isn’t very original, but it quickly morphs into a captivating mystery/suspense with a nice romantic subplot. Strong characters although I didn’t connect with them as well as I did with Talia & Sebastian, from books 1-3. I don’t know why. Intelligent dialogue. Provocative adult language kept to a minimum. Strong, captivating love scenes that don’t overwhelm the plot. Undercurrents of criminal activity combined with a touch of political intrigue. Good steady pacing...I never got bored and was reluctant to put this one down. The only downside is the unbelievable fact that Cass and Celeste look enough alike to pass for identical twins even though they’re not related. If you can suspend your belief that such a thing is possible, you’ll probably enjoy this one. Cliffhanger...

Cass & Calder's story didn't grip me like Talia and Bash but still it had many compelling twists and turns to the story. Even though these two seemed fated to be apart all throughout this exciting two book series your pulling for them to overcome all their obstacles. And there are references to Talia and Sebastian here as well to further add color to their story as well. PT is a gifted writer who does her research and the mysteries that surround this couple are well written and even had me questioning my assumptions half way through this. I love when that happens and the unpredictable occurs. In one of the great joys of reading. Have at it folks. Highly recommended!

Great read full of great dialogue and some great characters. Spoiler alert.

This one stars with Cass remembering when she and Talia went to the Blake party. A party where Talia met Sebastian while trying for an interview with Mina Blake. A Sebastian she marries. A Sebastian who's the illegitimate son of the elder Blake. A Sebastian who was a Navy SEAL.

Cass was at the party impersonating a rival of hers. Celeste Carver. A woman who has gone out of her was to make Cass's life miserable. This party and Cass impersonating this woman was to be Cass's payback.

Of course meeting Calder, a guy dressed in a Navy uniform and dancing with him wasn't quite what she had in mind. Calder thought she was Celeste and though Cass resembles Celeste quite a bit and the party was a masked affair Cass was so hoping Calder wouldn't discover she wasn't Celeste.

Calder and Cass had quite an evening. An evening Cass spent the next years thinking about.

So begins one damned fine read.

This one has Cass, her Father, Celeste and her family, a Celeste who has a proposition for Cass, a Cass who once again impersonates Celeste only this time at Celeste's urging, an engagement, a Calder who has left the Navy, a Calder who's keeping his distance from his family and his beloved cousin Bash, a Bash who finally gets a clue to Calder's whereabouts, a Calder involved in an illegal fight club, Celeste's sister, her boyfriend, an observer, a Calder and Cass finally getting things straightened out, a kidnapping, Bash finally catching up with Calder and finding out what's going on and Cass and Calder coming together on the way to love and live.

Five Stars and then some.

Damn this was a seriously awesome book!! I loved the first 3 in this series with Bash & Talia and wasn't really sure what to expect for Cass & Calder's story. Well I certainly didn't expect to be completely sucked in as I was. I spent the entire day absorbed into their story and couldn't put it down (adjust ask my family as they didn't get dinner last night! Oops). I love the twists and secrets that surround them. Add in all the steaminess throughout this book and you've got a 5 star read!

PT Michelle has such a talent for writing that pulls you in and has you adoring the characters and making you feel the chemistry between them. Her descriptiveness makes you feel like you are there actually watching everything instead of reading it! I can't wait for the next one in this series!!

Here's the thing...I liked Cass a lot, especially after having met her in Blackest Red, but I couldn't equate her to the same woman in this one. In Blackest Red, she was fun and confident. The perfect best friend and roommate to Talia. And I'm not talking about the beginning where we go back to her initial meeting of Calder. That girl I could understand. She just seemed so opposite of who I thought her to be. And she came across very young.

Part of the issue is that I didn't quite get the angst between her and Celeste. They look alike, but are obviously from different social and economic spheres. Nor can I quite believe that two people could look so much alike that their families could not tell them apart. Wearing a mask may confuse things, but not when Cass was expected to pretend to be Celeste for any length of time around the people she is closest too. Now Calder? Him I adored. Not as much as Sebastian, but I definitely love that he is part of the series and paired with Cass...at least the one I hope to meet again from Blackest Red. And I definitely want to know what really happened to Cass and Celeste's part in it, who Calder is related to because there has to be something big in there, and if Mina will get her own story.

So although this wasn't my favorite, there is still a lot that I want to know and will definitely read the next book. Like the others in the series, this one has some hot sex scenes, so definitely not for anyone under 18.

Cass ist 4 Jahre später Fotografin und hat Calder nicht mehr gesehen. Da bittet sie die echte Celeste um Hilfe.
Aber auch Calder hat es nicht leicht. Mal sehen wie sich alles entwickelt.
