This was definitely one of the more interesting re-tellings of A Christmas Story. Braxton Snow (aka Braxton Scrooge) went to great lengths to keep one of his workers, Will, away from his wife—a woman who he was once deeply in love with but turned his back on in the pursuit of money. Will reveals to Braxton that he is dying and wants Braxton to replace him in his wife’s life so that she won’t be alone, lonely, and bereft. This story has a lot going on and is quite emotional. There are elements of this story that will definitely get you in your feelings.

This story gave me some feels. The ending was hard to read, simply because of the loss that was felt by Gemma, but it was a beautifully written story all together. Stoneking did an AMAZING job of creating a Christmas story with a powerful message about how to survive after you lose a loved one, and it felt like she added a part of herself into the story. I loved reading this, even if it made me cry a few times. Truly an amazing addition to the collection.

The story started off OK but then when Will decided Braxton should BE him ewwww and No. Bad idea. Also the scene where Will teaches Braxton how to make love like he does is just weird. Who would want a man to become their dead husband, just no. It felt all wrong to me and no way could I recommend this to anyone.
