I thoroughly enjoyed this Regency romance with great characters, romance and intrigue. He was a Captain in the Army and now had no intention of having a family. However, he and his best friend's sister fell for each other. He had someone trying to kill him and kidnap her. It was actually multiple people after him and there was so much intrigue I couldn't put it. The ending was great and I enjoyed the extended epilogue. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader.

Advised by her brother that Inverly is a bit of a rake and “taken by the ladies”, they are attracted to each other and an attempt on his life only pushes them more together. They leave on a spirited adventure to determine who might want him dead.

The story is well written and the characters are charming. The plot goes against everything you have read about the rigors of living with the restrictions of the Ton. You will love reading this book.

Beautifully written with an engaging and mysterious plot. Story flowed quite well. Love at first sight. Ex military officer is shot while walking with a Lady. From there they were both targeted by the assassin, so they escape to the country. Unfortunately, the assassin is there too. The mystery deepens after the known assassin is jailed and the couple are still attacked. Surprise enemy. Lots of twists and turns will keep you on edge. Fascinating story. Recommended.

Ella Edon has written a very lively book. At a house party given by Lord Westmore, Raphaella Canmure and Lord Logan Ivirely, the Earl of Ivirely head shots fired at them when walking in the garden. Logan saved Raphaella by throwing her to the ground. Logan then informed her that he was the target, and she proceeded to try and protect him. Many twists and turns they end up with a happy ending read the book...
