I loved this wonderful historical romance book! It is a sad tale about a lady who’s parents pass when she is eight and is having to live with an aunt and cousin that don’t want her. She is treated like a servant in an unbearable environment. Once she becomes an adult she flees, and takes a job as a governess under false pretenses. She meets the Duke’s brother who is home from the war. Instant connection. There is drama, secrets, surprises, and malicious characters interfering with the couple’s happiness. The story really pulled at me emotionally. I loved the H and h characters, and also enjoyed all the characters residing in the manor that played key roles in the story. Well written. I received a complimentary ARC, but am voluntarily offering my personal opinion.
Side note: it truly needs an editor. Lots of errors.

This was a story of a young woman that was an orphan after her parents died in a carriage accident. She has to go live with an aunt but it was horrible. When sge was of age she leaves and she applied to be a governess. Hoping that things will be better she has trouble with different things that she didn’t do. But unexpectedly she finds someone that makes her feel again. Will this be the loves she’s been searching for? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Lady Madeline has endured many tragedies in her young life. Her parents died in a tragic accident leaving her to live with jealous relative only interested in the money that was left to take care of her. She was humiliated at her debut before the queen which left her no option but to run away to take a position as a governess. Read the book to find out if she finds happiness in her new life.

Reminded me of Cinderella but here we have an evil aunt and cousin sister. Madelyn, the daughter of an Earl becomes an orphan at the age of 8. Her wicked aunt takes her in so she can have control of her money. When the suffering becomes unbearable Madelyn runs away. She meets Graham and romance develops. Of course there has to be obstacles before a happy ending. It is a lovely story and the storyline is well developed. I would have given a much better rating if the book had been edited properly. There are too many mistakes to ignore.

How Madeline's Aunt could be so despicable I'll never understand. I'm so glad Madeline was able to break free and find true love even with a few bumps in the road.
